“In the summer of 1990, a group of lay persons joined together to look at ways to meet the needs of the people in the Hitchcock and Santa Fe I.S.D. areas. Thus began H.I.S. Ministries. It all started with Nine churches joining together to sponsor H.I.S Ministries, we have been blessed to have had a greater amount of churches joining our cause since then. H.I.S Ministries had opened the one and only self sustaining fund source Re-Sale Shop in the area. Its purpose has always been to help supply funds to buy food and other items needed by clients in our community and it continues to do so today.“

Our congregation is pleased to sponsor two families in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia through Ordinary Hero, an organization that our pastor and his wife became involved with after adopting a daughter from Ethiopia over a decade ago. The congregation’s assistance helps provide basic food and educational support to two families in need.

As their website states, “We exist to help children in Ethiopia overcome generational poverty - a line of family poverty that is often difficult to break because of patterns taught to each generation…we strive to see children educated, orphans and single mothers empowered, and entire families overcoming poverty.”

Regularly through the year, our congregation takes special offerings to support Adria's Women's Health in Texas City. They come alongside to help "women and couples facing unintended pregnancies with compassionate and professional care." They provide pregnancy testing, ultrasounds, pro-life counseling, and a number of Biblically-based parental training classes and resources...all of which are fully-confidential and provided to families at no cost to them.
